Owl, fox, dino, sci-fi, doughnuts, macaron, lollipop – these are some of the graphics that you can find on the cover of the 2015 collection of Pátria Design exercise books.
At the beginning of the year, we issued a call for tenders among art students to design own-produced and sold Pátria Design exercise books coordinated by the head of plate making Zsuzsanna Jasik, who is also responsible for product development. The major evaluation criteria included youthful, dynamic, distinct style, variability adapted to different age groups (lower and upper primary school children, secondary school children and students of higher education institutions), and the possibility to create a collection. From among the works received, we awarded the first place to the design made by Réka Maróti, MA course student at Budapest Metropolitan University of Applied Sciences. The collection of samples created based on her designs were first presented at the nationwide Pátria Roadshow 2015.
In addition to the new design, we are getting ready for the next school year with two brand new exercise books as well. “Első matematikafüzetem” (My first Maths exercise book) recommended for first-form primary school children is larger than the average, 8×8 mm squared, thus there is sufficient space for writing and practicing numbers. “Első mesefüzetem” (My first story exercise book) was also designed for primary school pupils learning to write. What is special about it is that the plain and lined pages alternate one after the other, thus children can draw on plain and write on lined pages.
The new PD exercise books are available in Pátria Papír specialist shops and at our reseller partners.
