In 2024, Pátria Printing House earned the Green Printing House of the Year award for the eleventh time, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. This year’s recognition was accepted by Gábor Sajti, Director of Procurement and Product Development, at the GPwA 2024 Green Mini Conference.
On September 26, 2024, the GPwA (Green Printworld Award) Green Awards were presented for the fourteenth time, representing prestigious accolades supported jointly by the three major domestic professional organizations: the Technical Association of the Paper and Printing Industry, the Association of Printing and Paper Industry, and the National Association of Packaging and Materials Handling.
Launched in 2011, the awards of this green competition certify that paper, printing, and packaging material manufacturers, as well as service providers meeting strict objective criteria, are characterized by exemplary environmentally conscious thinking, technological practices that consider the opportunities for sustainable development, environment-centered corporate management, the development of the sector’s environmental awareness, the promotion of the circular economy, and exemplary CSR activities.
Among this year’s awardees are 14 printing houses, 5 packaging material manufacturers, 1 paper manufacturer, 1 printing and packaging technology service provider, and 4 paper trading companies. The 25 awarded companies (6 large enterprises, 11 medium-sized enterprises, and 8 small enterprises) hold a total of 110 valid management system certifications, of which 67 are directly “green”-related certifications (ISO 14001, EMAS, ISO 22000, ISO 50001, FSC® [LC 104181], PEFC).
Pátria Printing House has been participating in the GPwA competition since 2014, achieving four stars in the first two years and continuously attaining a five-star rating since 2016. The outstanding solar energy development at the beginning of 2024 was implemented in this spirit: thanks to the solar power plants installed on the roof structures of the headquarters and central warehouse on Hunyadi út in Budapest, as well as the Kiskunfélegyháza production plant, we cover approximately 15% of the printing house’s electricity needs from our own renewable sources.
